Campaign Story

We started a journey to have another little baby recently 🥰 we want to give Evander a sibling and we are in our mid 30’s and want to do this now rather than later. We gettin old lol. However we have hit some struggles along the way. 

Im going to try and make this extremely long story short. We started earlier this summer and went to a different fertility clinic in Atlanta GA, because it was cheaper for the package we were doing. We were going to do RIVF (which means take Shay egg and fertilize it with Evanders donor sperm and let Alyvia carry). The fertility clinic that we conceived Evander at, Tennessee Fertility Institute (TFI), told us we had a vial of sperm left. It’s been there since 2021, and we have been paying for storage for it ever since. Once we completed paperwork (documentation, loans, other fees) with our fertility clinic in GA, we paid for our donor sperm to be shipped to GA to get the ball rolling. It was literally the last thing we had to do. It was the key to start the process, physically. 

Well Alyvia got a call from TFI, and behold.. we had no sperm. And within the last 4 years of thinking we had that last vial, the donor we conceived Evander with, had gone inactive. We can’t purchase anymore. Which was seriously an extremely hard blow for us. We had been planning to do this for years, and had certain expectations of this try with our donor, and it was ripped away. To say we were heartbroken is an understatement. We cried for a long time. Even writing this makes me teary-eyed. 

We had to quickly change our plans. While we would love a DNA baby of Shays, it means more to us for Evander to have a DNA sibling. What we decided was to start over, doing an IUI, which is what we did to conceive Evander and going to the drawing board of finding a new donor which we HATED! We wanted (and still want) Evanders donor but there’s no other vials out there, trust me we looked!
